What is the Weather like at Walt Disney World?
There is no exact science to weather in Disney World, it ranges between
hot and humid to near freezing. Winters are the most unpredictable; one
day can be in the upper 80’s and 50’s the next. Other than summer,
evenings might require a sweatshirt, especially if you will be at Epcot. The
wind tends to blow hard across the World Showcase Lagoon.
Where can I get Weather Information before I leave for Disney?
It is always a good idea to check the weather online before you start
packing. Accuweather.com is a very reliable website and offers “Real
Feel” temperatures too. 70 degrees in Central Florida might feel
differently than 70 degrees in the Northeast for example.

How often does it rain in Orlando?
Central Florida experiences the most rain in summer and fall. Most of the time, rain comes as torrential downpours that last for an
hour or so. Complete washouts are not as common. In the spring and summer, heavy humidity sets in overnight. As this humidity
burns off during the day, thunderstorms develop. This cycle repeats frequently so preparing for some rain might be a good idea.
Are the Parks Opened when it Rains?
Yes. Parks are open although some attractions may temporarily close if there is a threat of lightning.
What if a severe weather is expected either at Walt Disney World or my hometown?
Usually from June 1 to November 30, in the event a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area
or for the guest's place of residence within 7 days before the scheduled arrival date, the guest may call in advance to reschedule or
cancel their Walt Disney Travel Company Magic Your Way vacation package without any cancellation or change fees imposed by
Disney. This temporary policy also applies to most Walt Disney World Resort room-only reservations.
Are the Pools Opened all Year?
Yes. Pools are heated in the winter months but getting out of the pool in the winter
can be a chilling experience! Kids however won’t mind, if there is pool, they’re
going swimming!
TIP: Disney sometimes closes pools for maintenance (mainly during the winter
months) so be sure to ask about this when making your reservation. You can
also check here for pool closures.
A thunder storm setting in over Epcot. Summer storms are common and are usually short-lived.
